We are excited to announce that Debit Score® by Cheddar is one of ten finalist teams selected for the Smart Data Challenge Prize – a £600,000 innovation initiative funded by the UK Department for Business and Trade.

Ten teams have been selected to prototype Smart Data solutions with the potential to change sectors such as finance, energy, housing and transport.

We’ll be awarded grant funding and receive a package of non-financial support to develop our Debit Score® product further, using a specially created data sandbox. We believe in thinking outside the box to make finance truly inclusive, and being one of the first to ever access such granular synthetic data will enable us to demonstrate and accelerate better outcomes for consumers and small businesses through a score that reflects and enhances their financial wellness.

This milestone marks a crucial step towards building a trusted, user-driven Smart Data economy in the UK.
